Mr. Sipes passed away Sunday at Haywood Park Hospital in Brownsville, Tennessee.
A native of Hardeman County, he was born to Opal Fish Sipes James of Bolivar and the late John Sipes. He served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1963, during which time he lived in Connecticut. He spent the majority of his life in Tennessee, was a union painter and loved to fish.
In addition to his mother, survivors for Mr. Sipes include a daughter and her husband, Michelle and Matthew Rini of Rocky Hill, Connecticut; a son and his wife, Jason Todd and Beverlee Sipes of New Britain, Connecticut; a brother and his wife, Jerry and JoAnn Sipes of Bolivar; and four grand children, Mathew Rini III, Nick Rini, Tayler Nadolny-Sipes, and Leila Camille Sipes.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, J. T. Sipes, Jr.
