J. W. Evans was born May 23, 1941 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Buford and Ava Hockaday Evans.
Mr. Evans was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed gardening and restoring old tractors. When he was young he attended Union Grove Methodist Church with his family.
Mr. Evans departed this life on February 18, 2022 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 8 Months, 26 Days. He is survived by a nephew, Jeff Evans; a first cousin, Sherry Pickens; a great-nephew, Matthew Cole; a great-niece, Whitney Cole; and a great-great-niece, Grace Cole, all of Selmer, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Evans and Jimmie Lee Evans, and a sister, Mary Francis Evans.
