J. D. Hopperwas born in Corinth, Mississippi on October 7, 1929 the son of the late John Lewis and Jewel Banks Hopper.Mr. Hopper lived in the Walkertown Community. He had worked for Hardin County as a bus driver and as a Constable. Mr. Hopper was also self-employed as a plumber and an electrician. He was a member of the Souls Harbour Church and had a faithful bible study at Shepherd's Chapel. Mr. Hopper departed this life on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the age of 79 years, 1 month, 24 days.Mr. Hopper is survived by his wife, Maxine McClain Hopper of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 daughters: Debbie Silliman and Sandra Williams both of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 sons: Billy Hopper and Steve Hopper both of Savannah, Tennessee; a brother: Virgil Hopper of Savannah, Tennessee; 4 sisters; Gertie Murphy, Pauline Franks, Josephine Hopper, Linda Hopper all of Savannah, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren: Acey Blount, Aleck Blount, Abree Silliman, Rodney Hopper, Melissa Moffet, Jennifer Perriman, Cory Bickings, Ryan Bickings, and Sara Williams; 6 great-grandchildren: Kelsey Stricklin, Kayla Hopper, Joseph Kirk, Peyton Hopper, Abigail Hopper, and David Perriman.In addition to his parents, Mr. Hopper was preceded in death by a son: Bobby Hopper (Harold), and a sister: Lorene Murphy.
