Irene Holt

Irene Holtwas born in Sardis, Tennessee on January 18, 1912 the daughter of the late James L. and Mary McKinney England.On April 2, 1954 she was united in marriage to Jones Holt, who preceded her in death on November 4, 1980.Mrs. Holt had been employed with Memphis Light, Gas, and Water and also as a teacher. She was a member of the King's Daughters and a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis. She was devoted to her 10 nieces and nephews.Mrs. Holt departed this life on December 22, 2010 at the age of 98 years, 11 months, 4 days.Mrs. Holt is survived by her nephews, Larry Little and James S. Little both of Jackson, Tennessee, Gary Little of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Pat Little of Bath Spring, Mississippi, Stan Little of Humboldt, Tennessee, Tim Little and Les Little both of Memphis, Tennessee; nieces, Anita Fletcher of Asheville, North Carolina, Mickey Barker of Savannah, Tennessee and Linda Douty of Memphis, Tennessee.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Opal Little, Jimmie Little and Ruth Rice; 2 brothers, Robert and Bill A. England.
