Iona (Jodie) Jo Plunk

Iona Jo (Jodie) Smelser Plunk was born November 13, 1946 in Selmer, TN the daughter of the late Alpha Harding and Lou Marie Gilchrist Smelser.

She was united in marriage to Joe Don Plunk on November 20, 1964. Mr. Plunk preceded her in death on June 12, 2007.

Mrs. Plunk worked part-time as a secretary at the Adamsville church of Christ and previously at PCA in Counce as a full-time secretary. She along with her husband where lifelong members of the Church of Christ. 

For most of her life, she was a stay-at-home Mom - a role that she was most proud of and cherished until she became a grandmother. She loved her grandchildren - Emma and Mitch.

She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and working in the yard, crafting beautiful jewelry, and spending time with her family. 

Mrs. Plunk departed this life on February 23, 2023 in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 3 Months, 10 Days. She is survived by a son, Joe David Plunk and wife Embra of Spring Hill, TN; two grandchildren, Emma Plunk and Mitch Plunk both of Spring Hill, TN; two sisters, Cindy Duren and husband David, Georgie Rhein and husband Dennis; two brothers, Mike Smelser, Matt Smelser and wife Pat; and a host of extended family and friends.

Jodie's wishes were to have a private family service and interred at Crump Cemetery.
