Ima Ruth Gilchrist Crowder

Ima Ruth (Punk) Brewer Gilchrist Crowder was born May 18, 1937 in Wayne Co., Tennessee, the daughter of the late Coy Hooper Brewer and Addus Bertie Rich Brewer Holt. She was united in marriage to James Gilchrist, who preceded her in death on January 5, 1979 and Charles William Crowder, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2001.



Mrs. Crowder departed this life on Frdiay, October 17, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 4 Months, 29 Days.



Mrs. Crowder was a retired factory worker and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.



In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Crowder was preceded in death by a sister, Willa Mae Gilchrist.



She is survived by a son, James Curtis (Pete)Gilchrist and wife, Denise, of Old Monroe, MO; three grandchildren, Sabrina Gilchrist, James C. Gilchrist, II, James Knieb; two sisters, Maureen Ingle of Collinwood, TN, Martha Ann Atwell of Collinwood, TN; stepfather, Alvin Holt of Collinwood, TN; nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Louise Pitts of Tupelo, MS



Funeral services will be Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 2 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, TN with Chad Balentine officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.



Pallbearers will be Phillip D. Risner, Phillip Risner, Darryl Ingle, Adrian Risner, Pat Bryson, James Bryson, James C. Gilchrist, II.
