Ima Gean Barnes was born on March 21, 1935 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James Hubert White and Dovie Bell Langston Acuff.
On February 28, 1970, she was united in marriage to James Ernest Barnes, who preceded his wife in death on September 13, 2005.
Ima Gean was a talented piano player and taught piano lessons. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, painting, and watching westerns. She enjoyed singing at church and was a member of Savannah Assembly of God. Ima Gean loved her family very much and loved to tell her family stories.
Ima Gean Barnes departed this life on October 26, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 5 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Garrison Neill of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kimberly Hosea (Jason) and Matthew Garrison (Bridgette); step grandchild, Tim Neill; great grandchildren, Sydney Hardin (Tyler), Heidi Hosea (Tyler), Reecey Hosea, Lyndi Kate Hosea, Miles Garrison, Mattie Garrison, Gavin Garrison, and Kristin Garrison; brother, Hubert Paul White (Mary); and her special loved one, Jesse Franks, who never stopped caring.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ima Gean was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Marvin White, Florence Anner Franks White, Lettie Langston, and Tom Langston and grandson, Ronnie Garrison.
