Ileta Smith Kennedy, 73, of Middleton, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.
The widow of Kenneth Kennedy, who died in September 1999, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Kennedy was born August 2, 1932 in Tiplersville, Miss., daughter of the late J. P. and Verdie Mae Cross Smith. She was Baptist in belief.
Private graveside services were held at 4:00 PM Monday, March 6, 2006 at Rogers Springs Cemetery near Middleton with Charles Frost officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Pat Sweat of Middleton, Wanda Street of Saulsbury and Dyane Kennedy of Middleton; one sister and brother, Lucille Caldwell and Jimmy Smith, both of Tiplersville, Miss.; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Kennedy.
