Ida Pauline Stricklin
was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on August 24, 1923 the daughter of the late James Lewis Stevenson Cox and Ella Myrtle Newton Cox.
On November 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to William Berlin Stricklin, who preceded her in death in October of 1980. Mrs. Stricklin was a homemaker and helped her husband work in the fields. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Mrs. Stricklin was known as a hard worker and a loving mother and wife who always put her children first.
She departed this life on April 11, 2007 at Savannah Health Care Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 18 days.
Mrs. Stricklin is survived by two daughters: Barbara Fox and her husband, Rayburn, of Adamsville, Tennessee and Patsy Dockery and her husband, Paul, of Savannah, Tennessee; one son, Timothy Stricklin and his wife, Betty, of Savannah, Tennessee;
six grandchildren: Nickie Fox, Bobby Fox, Bradley Dockery, Kevin Dockery, Amanda White, and Billy McFall;
eight great-grandchildren: Jordan Yerby, Tyler McFall, Destiny McFall, Kassity McFall, Nickolas McFall, Avery Fox, Annie Fox and Hunter White;
one sister, Rachel Wisdom of Savannah, Tennessee
and one brother, Jessie Cox of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Kathy Pauline Stricklin McFall and Carolyn June Stricklin;
three grandchildren: Stevie Ray Fox, Lance Ray McFall
and Anthony Blaine McFall;
four sisters: Gertrude Cox Hinton Williams, Mageline Dannils, Martha Goodman and Willie Brannon;
and two brothers: Ben and Robert Cox.
