Ida Waurene Covey Stevens, 73, of Saulsbury, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widow of Claude Vernon Stevens, Jr., who died May 19, 2000 after 49 years of marriage, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Stevens was born May 14, 1932 in Benton County, Miss., daughter of the late Robert W. and Angelina McKee Covey and lived in Saulsbury all of her life. She was a member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Services were 2:00 PM Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Saulsbury Baptist Church with Jim Madden and Rhesa Davis officiating. Burial was in Saulsbury Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Mae Stevens of Saulsbury and one sister, Lois Covey Moffitt of Memphis. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Wesson Covey and one sister, Mavis Graves.
