He was born and reared in McNairy County, near Finger, the son of the late L. Hezekiah and Flora Floyd Jones. He was married to Ruby Hall of Montezuma in 1934. They made their home near Henderson all their married life. He farmed and worked for Henderson Compress and later was employed by Salant & Salant Mfg. He operated the Town and Country Café next to Salant & Salant from 1966 until 1981, when he retired. He was a school bus driver for many years. He was a member of the Chester County Farm Bureau and a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons Donald Jones and wife Yuonne of Beech Bluff and Gordon Jones and wife Robbie of Memphis; five grandchildren: Donnie Jones and wife Lynn, Darrell Jones and wife Cindy and Danny Jones all of Henderson and Stacey Berretta and Husband Bart of Bartlett and Denise Skonhovd and husband Kevin of Jonesboro, AR; He also has nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Hall Jones in 2001 and also four brothers and three sisters.
