Howard Lee \"Horsefly\" Horton of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, was born on July 29, 1926, the son of the late Levi and Icie Mae Ledford Horton. He was a World War II Navy veteran, VFW member, and a member of Bethel Springs First Baptist Church. Mr. Horton was retired from Brown Shoe Company and the McNairy County Highway Department. He was united in marriage to Lillian Sue Smallwood Horton who preceded him in death on March 16, 2004. Mr. Horton departed this life on Sunday, January 7, 2007, at his residence at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 9 days.Survivors are 7 daughters, Diane Bowen and husband Rooney of Selmer, Tennessee; Rhonda Hendrix and husband Michael of Nashville, Tennessee; Judy Dale Johnson, Roberta Murphy and husband Bobby, Angela Davidson and husband Joe, Becky Smith and husband Randy, and Dana Swims and husband Stacey, all of Bethel Springs, Tennessee. A son Stanley Chambers and wife Helen, also of Bethel Springs. Survived by 2 sisters, Lillie King of Franklin, Tennessee, and Ella Mae Horton of Selmer, a brother, Lee Roy Horton, also of Selmer.11 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Step-Grandchildren; 11 Step-Great-GrandchildrenA host of other relatives and friends.Other than his parents and wife, Mr. Horton was also preceded in death by a son Richard Lee Horton, and 7 brothers and sisters.
