He was born in Henderson, TN the son of the late Charlie and Estelle Droke Easley. He went to school at Montezuma. He married Rubye Parker in 1962. He worked as a police officer in Bolivar, Adamsville and Henderson for about 20 years. He then was a truck driver for 20 years and retired in 2006. He was a member of the Old Union Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading the Bible and listening to 104.9 on the radio. As a police officer he was a recipient of the Silver Star for Bravery and the Exceptional Bravery Award, listed in Who’s Who in Law Enforcement (for capturing a fugitive who killed another Police Officer). He was a Master Mason.
He is survived by two sons, Steven W. Easley and wife Tabitha of Savannah and Phillip D. Easley and wife Misty of Holloday, TN; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mr. Easley was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rubye Louise Jewel (Parker) Easley; two sisters, Victoria Peterson and Loucille Couples and two brothers, Mayhew Easley and Dewell Easley.
