Horace Quinton Parks

Horace Quinton Parks, 72, of Bolivar, died Thursday, May 26, 2005 at Bolivar General Hospital.



The widower of Laverne Johnston Parks, who died May 23, 2000, he was a switchman for BellSouth for 38 years. Mr. Parks was born March 10, 1933 in Fayette County, son of the late Jesse Warren Parks and Dora Humphreys Parks and lived most of his life there before making his home in Bolivar in 1971. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW as well as Parks Chapel Methodist Church.



Services were 1 PM Monday, May 30, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Duane Moore officiating. Burial was in Parks Chapel Cemetery in Fayette County.



Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Warner of Henderson; one son, Mike Glover, Sr. of Bolivar; one brother, Billy Parks of Bolivar; one sister, Betty Perry of Moscow; five grandchildren, Jessica Warner Swindell, Sid Warner, III, Hollie Glover, Michael Glover, Jr. and Krystal Glover and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis, David and Millard Ray Parks and one sister, Naomi Holden.
