Holmes Lewis McNeely, 67, of Blue Mountain, Miss., formerly of Middleton, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union County, Miss.
The husband of Robbie N. McNeely, who survives, he was a carpenter and had most recently worked as a meat department associate at Wal-Mart. Mr. McNeely was born April 12, 1939 in Middleton, son of the late Lewis Burns McNeely and Fannie Beatrice Carruth McNeely and lived in Shreveport, LA before returning to Blue Mountain to make his home in 1995. He served in the U. S. Army from 1958 to 1961 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church at Middleton.
Private family services were held at Shackelford’s Middleton chapel with Sane Scott officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery near Middleton.
In addition to his wife, whom he married June 16, 1958, survivors include one daughter and her husband, Anita Lynn and John S. Hogg of Pensacola, Fla.; one granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Hogg; one grandson-in-law, David Roberson; one great grandaughter, Brianna Lynn Roberson; four sisters-in-law, Bobbie Goolsby, Malinda Albott, Ann Hudson and Dorothy Smith and one brother-in-law, Clyde Pickens. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Margie Brooks.
