Hershel Andrew Sandy

Hershel Andrew Sandy was born May 12, 1932 in St. Joseph, Tennessee, the son of the late William Oscar and Carrie Lee Burgess Sandy. Mr. Sandy departed this life Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 11 Months, 24 Days. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sandy was preceded in death by three brothers, John Dee Sandy, Edgar Sandy, and Luke Sandy; a sister, Mary Ann Beatrice Flemming. Mr. Sandy was retired from Murray Ohio Manufacturing in Lawrenceburg, TN.He is survived by his wife Edith Earline (Davis) Sandy of Waynesboro, TN; three sisters, Lucille Hurst of Tipton, IN, Leavy Pearl Taylor of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Dorothy Patalon of Summerset, KY. Services will be Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Waynesboro with Jerry Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.
