Herschel Longcor

Herschel (J. R.) Longcor was born April 17, 1948 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Ruth Marie Shinn and the late Herschel E. Longcor.He was united in marriage to Peggy Burks on October 25, 1979.Mr. Longcor was a retired electrician with Shell Oil Company. He attended Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Ramer, Tennessee, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.Mr. Longcor departed this life on June 26, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 62 Years, 2 Months, 9 Days. He is survived by his wife Peggy (Burks) Longcor of Selmer, TN; mother, Ruth Longcor of Galesburg, IL; a daughter, Pam Longcor of Galesburg, IL; four sons: Timmy Longcor and wife Mandy of Hannibal, MO, James Longcor of Branson, MO, David Moss and wife Oreline of Counce, TN, and Rickie Moss and wife Jeannette of Savannah, TN; a sister, Trudy Longcor and husband Dan Cherrington of Galesburg, IL; two brothers, Phil Longcor and wife Georgie of Galesburg, IL and Jimmy Longcor and wife Cindy of Galesburg, IL; 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
