Herman Stanley Reece, 72, of Saulsbury, died Thursday evening,
March 10, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville.
The husband of Lillie Mae Reece, who survives, he retired as a
Master Sgt from the U.S.Air Force after 20 years service and was
most currently the golf course superintendent for the Hardeman County Country Club. Mr. Reece was born August 5, 1932 in Booneville, Mississippi, son of the late Walter Lee Reece and Duell Maddox Reece and was raised in Memphis. He lived in Lompoc, Calif. for many years and in Selmer for a time before making his home in Saulsbury in 1985. Mr. Reece was stationed at Vandenberg Missile Base during his Air Force service and was a member and Secretary of Berlin #170 Masonic Lodge. He played music in nursing homes for 12 years and attended Saulsbury Baptist Church.
Services were 2 PM Sunday, March 13 at Shackelford's chapel in
Bolivar with James Madden and Reesa Davis officiating. Burial
was in Saulsbury Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, whom he married January 2, 1988, survivors include one son and his wife, Richard S. and Mary Reece of Federal Way, Wash.; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and
Albert Navarro of Melbourne, Fla. and two grandsons, Andrew and
Liam Reece. He was preceded in death by his brother, W. D. Reece.
