Services for Herbert F. Morang, 81, of Bolivar, were 4:00 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Middleton, Tennessee. Graveside services are 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Lambert Lake (Maine) Cemetery where he will be interred next to his beloved wife.
Mr. Morang was born March 16, 1924 in Machias, Maine to Herbert F. Morang, Sr. and Emma Carver Morang and had lived in Bolivar since 1986. He died Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Williamson County Hospital in Franklin, TN.
The widower of Ila Mae Grass Morang, who died in 1991, he was a minister for the Church of Christ for over 50 years and also was a Special Education school teacher in Maine and in Hardeman County, Tennessee. He graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville in 1953 with a Bachelor’s Degree and his Master’s Degree was received from the University of Maine in Orono. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Middleton Church of Christ.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Gill and her husband, Gary, and Cathy Black and her husband, Howard, all of Bolivar, Tenn.; one son, Chris Morang and his wife, Barbara, of Carmel, Maine; a brother, Richard Morang of Harrington, Maine; seven grandchildren, Sharon Broome, Betsy Lucas, Justin Duke, Roy and Hannah Black, Brittany Harvey and Emily Morang; three great-grandchildren, Katherine and Aidan Broome and Dakota Brown. Mr. Morang was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Urquart and Daphene Crowley.
