Helen McAfee was born August 12, 1921 in Crawford, Texas the daughter of the late Forrest and Rennie Johnson McGee.
She was united in marriage to Earnest Eugene McAfee on May 28, 1938. Mr. McAfee preceded her in death on June 28, 1997.
Mrs. McAfee was a homemaker, and a member of the Michie First Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved following McNairy Central Basketball and attended as many games as possible.
Mrs. McAfee departed this life on March 31, 2009 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 87 Years, 7 Months, 19 Days. She is survived by three daughters: Sinda Stutts and husband Ray V., Mary Barnett and husband Jimmy, and Carolyn Butler and husband J. L., all of Michie, TN; three sons: Eugene (Gennie) McAfee and wife Kathryn, Larry Joe McAfee and wife Gloria, and David McAfee and wife Teressa, all of Michie, TN; nine grandchildren: Tony McAfee and wife Joy of Michie, TN, Tessa Bullock and husband Randy of Gallatin, TN, Tanya Guidry and husband Scott of Memphis, TN, Cathy Griffin and husband Keith of Michie, TN, Lorrie Bodiford and husband Richie of Michie, TN, Joe McAfee and wife Susan of Savannah, TN, Chris McAfee and wife Stephanie of Michie, TN, Melissa Witt and husband Chris of Corinth, MS, and Melody Price of Michie, TN; 14 Great Grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Francis Morse and husband David of Granite City, MO; special friends Beth Bartlett of Corinth, MS and Della Johnson and husband Swain of Texas; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McAfee was preceded in death by a sister, Lou V. Plunk; a grandson, Blake McAfee; a great-granddaughter, Lauren McAfee; and a son-in-law, Jeff Price.
