Helen Crunk Hodge
was born in Killen, AL on September 18, 1925 the daughter of the late Bud Buford and Lela Philadelphia Harrison Crunk.
On November 6, 1948 she was united in marriage to Joe Payton Hodge, who preceded her in death on May 8, 1972. Mrs. Hodge was a graduate of Draughn's Business College and worked as a book keeper at Hardin County High School. She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a past member of the American Legion, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was a leader in Rainbow Girls and received the Grand Cross of Color. Mrs. Hodge was also a member of the Hardin County Democratic Party, an adult member of the 4-H Honor Club, a 4-H leader, a den leader in Cub Scouts, and a member of the Shriner's Wives Group. She also loved to crochet and fish.
She departed this life on April 14, 2007 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, TN at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Mrs. Hodge is survived by two daughters: JoHelen Lackey and her husband, Lee, of Savannah, TN; Vicki Ainley and her husband, Mike, of Paris, TN; one son, Mike Hodge and his wife, Sharon, of Paris, TN;
four grandchildren: Amy Johnson, Angela Hoover, Hunter Hodge and Holly Hodge; one great-grandchild, Peyton Porter; and one sister, Earline Barnett of Florence, AL.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Norma Welch and Jewel McDaniel and three brothers: Louis Crunk, Roy Crunk and Charles Crunk.
