Helen Laverne Franklin Hayneswas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 27, 1934 the daughter of the late Oscar Vernie and Maggie Alma Ford Franklin.On April 17, 1964 she was united in marriage to John Arnold Haynes, who preceded her in death on November 19, 1998.Mrs. Haynes had lived in the Walnut Grove Community all her life and was a member of the Second Creek Church of Christ. She had worked for Brown Shoe Company for 32 years and for El Rancho Furniture Company until she retired. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, and reading the Bible.Mrs. Haynes departed this life on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the age of 75 years, 8 months, 18 days.Mrs. Haynes is survived by a daughter, Denise Wylie of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 stepdaughters, Jennie Posey and husband Jerry of Florence, Alabama, Shirley Morris and husband Larry of Savannah, Tennessee; a stepson, Edwin Haynes and wife Candy of Savannah, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 stepdaughters, Barbara Howard and Judy Yerby McFall; a stepson, Bill Haynes; a grandson, Dwight Gene Morris; 3 brothers and 9 sisters.
