Mrs. Black passed away Saturday morning, December 3 at her home in Hickory Valley.
The wife of Byron D. Black, who survives, she worked as a secretary at the Ames Plantation. She was born May 27, 1938 in Grand Junction to James H. Richardson and Ruth Claire Pope Richardson, both of whom preceded her in death and lived all of her life here except for a few years in Memphis. She was a member of Grand Junction First Baptist Church and was active in the WMU. She was also a member of the DAR.
In addition to her husband, whom she married on July 1, 1956, survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Beth Hanna (Bobby) of Hickory Valley and Becky Downen (Mark) of Hickory Valley; and four grandchildren, Brett Downen (Cindy), Whitney Downen, Rachel and Sarah Hanna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Hugh Richardson, Jr.
