Helen Anna Bartholomew, 84, of Bolivar, died Sunday evening, November 19, 2006 at Pleasant View Healthcare Center.
The widower of James Leo Bartholomew, who died in November of 1970, she was a nurse’s aide at Pleasant View Healthcare Center until she retired in 1989. Mrs. Bartholomew was born February 6, 1922 in Scotts Hill, daughter of the late Riley and Volly Newman Tucker and lived here most of her life. She loved to read, work in her yard with flowers and collect family photos. Mrs. Bartholomew was a member of Dixie Hills Baptist Church.
Services were 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Ricky Watson officiating. Burial was in Scotts Hills Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Wilbanks of Ramer; three sons, James, Jerry and Alvin Bartholomew, all of Bolivar; two sisters, Lovel Rimer of Cedar Grove and Billie of Greenfield; a half-brother, Joe Tucker, also of Greenfield; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and thirteen great, great grandchildren.
