Hazel Imogene (Gene) Shelton

Hazel Imogene (Gene) Shelton Hazel Imogene (Gene) Shelton was born in Pinson, TN on July 6, 1935, the daughter of the late Arnold and Johnnie Mae Plunk. She was united in marriage to the late Paul Shelton on February 16, 1953.

Mrs. Shelton departed this life at Lynnfield Place Assisted living Facility on Monday, December 5th at the age of 87 years, 5 Months, 29 Days.

Mrs. Shelton spent many years volunteering not only as a Pink Lady in the Selmer Hospital Auxiliary, but also at Jesus Cares in Selmer. She was a member of Selmer Second Baptist Church. Her passions included playing with her great grandchildren, going on trips, bowling, playing on her kindle, eating ice cream and doing word puzzles.

She is survived by her son, Paul Michael Shelton and wife Debbie of Selmer, TN; two grandchildren, Clay Shelton and wife Amanda of Selmer, Jacob Shelton and wife Lauren of Medina; three great grandchildren, Allie Grace Shelton, Caroline Shelton and Georgia Shelton; brother, Roy Plunk of Selmer; sisters, Betty Jane Smith of Corinth and Jackie Walker of Selmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Shelton; two sons, Randy Shelton and Jerry Shelton; parents Arnold and Johnnie Mae Plunk; sister Joan Plunk of Selmer.
