Mrs. Plunk was born in McNairy County and reared in McNairy and Chester County. She was the daughter of the late Riley Edward and Laura Jones Maness. She was reared by her aunt, who became her step-mother; Lillian Maness. She was married to Jesse Lee Plunk in 1945 and they made their home in the Henderson area. They owned and operated Jesse’s Shoe Repair on Main Street in Henderson and also Discount Factory Outlet. In 1972 they opened Magic Valley Factory Outlet Mall north of Henderson and continued there until she retired in 1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson.
She loved to attend local square dances in and around Henderson.
She is survived by two children Edward Plunk and Wanda Plunk Price both of Henderson. She was predeceased by a daughter; Denease Plunk Lipscomb in 1980. She has five grandchildren Jason Price, Stephen Price, Justin Lipscomb, Angela Plunk Robertson, and Heather Plunk Verduzco and five great grandchildren; Taylor, Madison, and Cooper Price and Hunter and Bradley Price.
Mrs. Plunk is also survived by a brother; T. R. (Thurman) Maness of Niceville, FL and a sister Nell Etheridge of Tupelo, MS and was predeceased by a brother Duward Frye and two sisters; Bobbie Jo Maness Wilson and Ruth Maness Robinson.
