Hazel Eloise Gray
was born in Hayti, Missouri on October 26, 1939 the daughter of the late Robert Paul Slider and Ruth Elizabeth Rankin Smith.
On August 26, 1976 she was united in marriage to John Allen Gray, who survives.
Hazel was a retired hospital office worker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Hazel liked to go to the Senior Center, fishing, traveling to see new places, yard work, and cooking and trying new recipes from the Food Network. She loved animals, her family and her church.
Hazel departed this life on Thursday, December 9, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 13 days.
In addition to her husband of 45 years, John of Savannah, Tennessee, she is survived by her children, Robert Mock of Bushnell, Florida, Mike Gray of Westerville, Ohio, Mona Hickmon of Savannah, Tennessee, and Laurie Fryer of Stevensville, Michigan; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her grand dog, Chica Hickmon; sisters, Margie Curtis of Monterey, Louisiana and Barbara Allen of Carlsbad, California; and brother, Lewis Slider of Alexandria, Louisiana.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sherry Wagner; one brother, Robert Slider, Jr.; and her grandparents whom she was very close to, Maggie Mae Slider and Cecil Slider.
