Hazel DeMore

August 18, 1915 — June 3, 2009

Mrs. DeMore passed away Wednesday evening at Crestveiw Nursing Home in Brownsville.



The widow of Edwin Charles DeMore, who died on January 6, 2005 after 58 years of marriage, she was a homemaker and had previously worked as a bookkeeper at Memphis Compress and Storage. She was born to Walter Roane Fleming and Allie Smith Fleming, both of whom preceded her in death and lived in Memphis from 1954 until 2000 when she moved to Brownsville. She was a graduate of Grand Junction High School and of Ms. Grace Wiley's Finishing School and was active in the Chapter U of the PEO Club. Mrs. DeMore was a member of 2nd Presbyterian Church in Memphis.



Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Taylor of Brownsville; two brothers, Herron Fleming and his wife, Edith of Ashville, NC and Irby Fleming and his wife, Betty, of Augusta, GA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Julian R. Fleming.
