Harry E. Pafford

Harry E. “Windy” Pafford, Sr., 81, of Middleton, died Thursday, October 20, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East.



The husband of Thelma Flake Pafford, who survives, he was the owner of Buntyn Barber Shop in Memphis and also worked at the Middleton Barber Shop. Mr. Pafford was born April 19, 1924 in Eva, Tenn., son of the late Watts W. Pafford and Edna Holland Pafford. He lived in Memphis before making his home in Middleton 16 years ago and was a member of the Memphis and Middleton Lions Clubs. Mr. Pafford served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was an auctioneer for many years and was a member of Middleton First Baptist Church.



Services were 2 pm Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Middleton First Baptist Church with Dr. Eric Taylor officiating. Burial was in Middleton City Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.



In addition to his wife, whom he married November 22, 1947, he is survived by two daughters, Patsy Deplois and her husband, Larry of Livingston, Tex. and Joy Billingsley and her husband, Lester, of Senatobia, Miss.; one brother, John E. Pafford of Grenada, Miss. four grandchildren, Larry Deplois, Jr., Eddie DeWayne Pafford, and Ashley and Brittany Billingsley and four great grandchildren, Matthew, Macie, Jacob and Kacie Deplois. He was preceded in death by son, Harry E. (Eddie) Pafford, Jr.; two brothers and one sister.
