Harold Ray Prater

Services for Harold Ray Prater, age 75, of Waynesboro, TN will be Monday, Jan 14, 2008 at 10 am at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, TN with Terry White and Cal Hampton officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Clifton Cemetery in Clifton, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Wallace Holder, Jim Stricklin, Tommy Swafford, J. C. Franks, Harlie Prater, and Charles Butler.



Visitation will be Sunday, Jan 13, 2008 from 4:30 pm to 9 pm and Monday, Jan 14, 2008 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.



Mr. Prater died at his home on Friday, January 11, 2008 after an extended illness.



A native of Hardin County, TN, he was a son of the late George and Ethel Doyle Prater. Mr. Prater was a member of Green River Baptist Church, was a retired employee of Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company, and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.



Survivors, wife, Mary Sue Swafford Prater, Waynesboro, TN; son, Ronnie Harold (Jean) Prater, Yankton, SD; daughters, Beverly (Terry) White, Vicksburg, MS, Gloria (Todd) Eaton, Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Justin and Jeremy White, Kelli and Katie Prater; step-granchild, Christopher Anderson; threee step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Glen Prater, Clifton, TN, Larry Prater, Memphis, TN; sisters, Dorothy Dent, Steele, MO, Villa Sue Holder and Betty Stricklin, Clifton, TN; nieces and nephews.
