Harold P. McCall, 70, of White vilie, died Thursday, February 24 at
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Jean Alexander McCall, who survives, he owned
Whiteville Auto Parts for 42 years and co-owed Whiteville Armiture Co. from 1960 to 1985. Mr. McCall was born August 23, 1934 in Chesterfield, Tenn., son of the late James Patrick McCall and Flora Mae Small McCall and lived in Henderson County until 1954. He lived in Memphis from 1954-1960, making his home in Whiteville in 1960. Mr. McCall served as an Alderman for several years, was on the Industrial Board and helped to establish the Whiteville Fire Department. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Whiteville.
Services were 2 PM Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Shackelford's
chapel in Bolivar with Bill Sorrell and James Smith officiating.
Burial was in Crowder Cemetery near Whiteville.
In addition to his wife, whom he married December 11, 1954,
survivors include two daughters, Karen McCall Smith of Birmingham, Ala. and Teresa McCall King Coleman of Whiteville;
one son, Alan Wayne McCall of Marquette, Mich.; one sister, Helen
McCall Morehouse of Memphis and eight grandchildren.
