Funeral services for Harold David Gobbell, age 39, of Waynesboro, TN will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 3 pm at Highland Methodist Church with Ronnie Gobbell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from 8 am until 2:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, TN. Pallbearers will be David Melson, Doug Bolitho, Jansen Holt, James Haddock, Nathan Brown, Ray Kelso, and Terry Dickey.
David died at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN on Sunday, March 9, 2008 from injuries sustained following a horse and buggy and automobile accident in Waynesboro.
A native of Ft. Bragg, NC, David was a chief engineer with Crounse Corporation, was a member of Steel Workers Union, was an ACS certified mechanic, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Gobbell and his great-grandmother, India Mae Staggs.
