Harley Broyles departed this life on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 19 days. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 12, 1929, the son of the late Harry William and Beatrice Lizabeth House Broyles. On January 15, 1950, he was united in marriage to Margaret Franks, who preceded him in death on July 30, 2012.
Harley had lived in the Cerro Gordo Community and was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church and the American Legion in Savannah, Tennessee. He had worked for Brown Shoe Company, Owens-Corning Fiberglass, Piggly Wiggly, and was a bus driver for the Hardin County Board of Education. Harley was an excellent pool player, loved motorcycles, enjoyed visiting family and friends, and was a big cut up.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Diane Broyles Powell and husband, Gary of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, Bobby Broyles and wife, Beatrice of Savannah, Tennessee; granddaughter, Amber Suzanne Powell Brock and husband, Nick of Savannah, Tennessee; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Brock.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Elizabeth Broyles, Katherine Beatrice Broyles, and Mary Ella "Jane" Broyles; brothers, Grady Hardin "Burrhead" Broyles, Oscar Gilbert Broyles, Harry Broyles, Jr., Fred "Bill" Broyles, George Edwin "Tommy" Broyles, Earl H. "Mutt" Broyles, and Noble Bruce Broyles.
