GUY GARNER

Counce, TN: Guy Norman Garner age 73, passed away April 12, 2025, at his home.

He was born July 13, 1951, in Finger, TN, the son of the late Will and Lois Wamble Garner. He grew up in Chester County and was a 1969 graduate of Chester County High School. He then attended Jackson State Community College.

He married Sherry Byrd on January 23, 1982. They made their home in Henderson for twenty-three years and then Pickwick, TN for the past twenty years.

He worked as Park Manager at Chickasaw State Park in Henderson before transferring to Pickwick Landing State Park, retiring in 2016. He then worked part time for the U.S. Marshall Service.

He enjoyed hunting but LOVED golfing!

He was Church of Christ. 

He was a people person, always enjoyed being with people and was compassionate and helping to those in need.

He loved his wife, his sons, and his granddaughter, Alyssa was the light of his life for the past ten years.

Mr. Garner is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann Byrd Garner, two sons, Michael Casey Garner and Kevin Reid Garner, all of Counce, TN, two grandchildren, Alyssa Garner and Bryson Moore and a sister, Sheila Fesmire (Larry) of Newbern, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Kendall Star Garner.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 15th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – SAVANNAH Chapel with Dr. Tony Wamble officiating. Burial will follow at White Sulphur Cemetery at Pickwick, TN.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue, HENDERSON, TN 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and beginning at 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors -SAVANNAH, TN.
