Gustave Mirra, 84, of Bolivar, died Monday evening, February 13, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widower of Ellen Mirra, who died December 3, 2003 after 60 years of marriage, he was a salesman with Wool Inc., a plumbing supply company. Mr. Mirra was born February 18, 1921 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of the late Pasquale and Gelsomina Scalvelo Mirra and lived in Mamaroneck, NY for a time and in Lake Worth, Fla. for 46 years before making his home in Bolivar in 1999. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII as a sergeant and medical technician while in the Philippines, was a member of the Sons of Italy, the VFW and the American Legion. Mr. Mirra was Catholic in belief.
Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Catherine and William T. Ricks of Bolivar; two grandchildren, Katrina Ricks-Speakman of Bartlett and William S. Ricks of Bolivar and one great grandson.
