Allen Bruce

Guinn Allen Bruce was born on December 18, 1946, in Ducktown, TN to parents Cecil Bruce and Bonnie Patterson Bruce who preceded him in death. He passed away on May 29, 2023, at the age of 76 Years, 5 Months, and 11 Days in Jackson, Tennessee.

Allen dedicated his life to education and served as a physics teacher, computer programming instructor and advanced mathematics faculty member at Adamsville High School. After retirement, he pursued a new passion for driving big rigs for over a decade and traveled extensively through many parts of the country. "I want to see this country through a windshield", he has said. He cherished each of his students, and enjoyed seeing many again all throughout life. He treasured each season of his life uniquely from his childhood in Ducktown throughout his time in education, as a friend, golfer, driver and Starbucks enthusiast in Jackson. 

Mr. Bruce is survived by his children: Kevin Lee Bruce, Robin Leann Kelley along with her husband Kris Kelley, and Leanne Henry with her husband Clay Henry; his brother, Olan Ray “Pete” Bruce of Knoxville,TN; eight grandchildren: Madalyn Blakney, Molly Hannah Bruce, Morgan Bruce, Willow Kelley, Norah Kelley, Blaine Henry, Mary Hannah Henry and Conner Thomas Henry; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bruce was preceded in death by his son, Brian Keith Bruce; and many siblings.
