Grover Rickman was born January 8, 1930 in McNairy County, Tennessee, the son of the late David Otis and Mary Elizebeth Preston Rickman.
On September 1, 1951, he was united in marriage to Syble Anniece Dickerson who survives.
Mr. Rickman proudly served with the 82nd Airborne for two years. He then served with the United States Air Force as an instructor until his retirement on March 1, 1969. While he was enlisted, Mr. Rickman lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Biloxi, Mississippi, Nashville, Tennessee, and London, England. He was the first enlisted personnel to be an instructor at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mr. Rickman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Michie. He was also a former McNairy County Commissioner.
Mr. Rickman departed this life on June 14, 2010 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 80 Years, 5 Months, 6 Days. He is survived by his wife Syble Anniece Rickman of Michie, TN; a son, Victor David Rickman of Venus, TX; two brothers, Si N. Rickman of Hot Springs Village, AR and Tommy L. Rickman of Ripley, MS; two grandchildren, Jody Ann Rickman - Seale and Michelle Rickman; two great grandchildren, Harlie Maye Rickman and Paige Leann Seale.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rickman was preceded in death by his grandparents, Morgan and Lizzy Rickman; a sister, Elizabeth Deaton and two brothers, Junior Rickman and Wilson Rickman.
