Mr. Greg Walters, age 58, passed away Thursday morning, September 8, 2016 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Pam Walters, who survives, he worked as a landscaper. He was born September 8, 1958, in Memphis, son of the late Walter Lee Walters and Martha Elizabeth Rogers Walters, moving here in 2001. In 2007 he left for Texas and moved back to this area in 2010. Previously he had worked as a sales rep/delivery driver for Premium Brands Beer. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and going muddin' in his truck, but he especially enjoyed being around his family, whom he dearly loved. He grew up in Aldersgate Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, whom he married on November 23, 1984, survivors include two daughters, April Box (Tim) of Middleton and Janice Beckham of Memphis; a sister, Darla Childs (Tony) of Atlanta, GA; a nephew that he considered as a son, Blake Leatherwood of Medon; four grandchildren, Terry, Kaela, Timothy and Emma; a niece, Carrie Wright of Cordova; a stepbrother, Gene Meyer of Conway, AR; and numerous other family members. The family requests memorial donations in Mr. Walters' name be made to the US Autism and Asperger Association (www.usautism.org/donate)
