Grady “Cowboy†Lewis
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 24, 1915 the son of the late Tom and Amanda Wade Lewis.
He was married to Inez “Grannie†Falls Lewis, who preceded him in death on March 31, 2004. Mr. Lewis was a retired service technician for Sears and a self-employed electrician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. Mr. Lewis was a member of Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church, an active member of Savannah Masonic Lodge 102, and Savannah Eastern Star 371. He was also emcee of the Hardin County Bluegrass Festival for 10 years.
He departed this life on October 20, 2005 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 26 days.
Mr. Lewis is survived by
one daughter, Sue Ritter (Jim) of Morris Chapel, Tennessee;
one son, Tommy “Motor†Lewis (Connie) of Savannah, Tennessee;
4 grandchildren: Lynn Ritter of Morris Chapel,
Shane, Jason and Candice Lewis of Savannah;
6 great-grandchildren: Chris Ritter of Adamsville, Tennessee,
Nick and Kela Ritter of Morris Chapel,
James, Rodney and Nick Lewis of Savannah;
one great-great-grandchild: Blake Ritter of Adamsville;
2 sisters: Marie Mayo of Como, Mississippi and Jo Kate Jobe of Corinth, Mississippi;
a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
