Gracie Mae Downen

July 25, 1915 — March 10, 2012

Mrs. Downen, the widow of Mr. William P. Downen who died November 15, 2010, passed away Saturday night, March 10, 2012 at the Bolivar General Hospital.



A native of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Anderson Marshall and Evie Howell Marshall. She had lived all of her life here except for six years when she lived in Illinois. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Bethany Church of Christ.



She is survived by two daughters, Frances Evelyn Pipkin and her husband, David, of Pocahontas, TN and Linda Kay Roberson and her husband, Trent, of Walnut, MS; one son, Edward Lee Downen and his wife, Teresa, of Memphis; one 1/2 sister, Mary Louise Davis of Middleton; one brother, Edward Marshall of Tupelo, MS; four grandchildren, Alicia Weaver and her husband, William; Susan White, Jason Pipkin and Jeremy Roberson; six great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.



In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Graple Howell and Virginia Johnson; and three brothers, Carl, Olion and Roy Marshall.
