Grace G. Harris, 94, of Hickory Valley, died Friday, January 5, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Middleton, daughter of the late Walter and Zora Leadford Grantham and was a life-long resident of Hardeman County. She was preceded in death by her first husband, R. L. Shelton, on August 18, 1964. For many years, she was owner/operator, with Mr. Shelton, of Shelton's Grocery. Later, she managed commercial properties. She married Edwin L. Harris in 1971 and spent her last years as a homemaker, where she loved to play the piano, cook, plant flowers and garden. She was a member of the Bolivar 1st United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Gerald Shelton of Bolivar; a brother, P. T. Grantham of Bolivar; two grandchildren, Angie Shelton, Andy Shelton, and his wife, LeAnne and two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Abby Kathryn Shelton.
