Glenn Woodson Stewart, 84, of Bolivar, died Wednesday morning, May 23, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Hattie Idell McBride Stewart, who survives, he was a psychiatric technician with Western Mental Health Institute for 27 years before retiring in 1987. He also worked at the Continental Baking Company in Memphis for 14 years. Mr. Stewart was born October 2, 1922 in Middleton, son of the late Isaac Carl Stewart and Elma Scott Stewart. He lived here most of his life and in Memphis for 14 years. He served the U. S. Army in the Battle of the Bulge, receiving the Bronze Star. Mr. Stewart loved gardening and flowers and was a member of Bolivar Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, whom he married October 25, 1941, survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Terry Capshaw of Middleton; one sister, Bonnie Howell of Middleton; three grandchildren, Teresa Howell of Hickory Valley, Brian Capshaw of New Hope, Ala., Jennifer Capshaw of West Bridgewater, Mass.; three great grandchildren, Cadence and Easton Howell and Abigail Capshaw.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Prentice Stewart and sister, Irene Stewart.
