Glenda Glover Wolfe, born on November 23, 1947 in Somerville, TN, passed away on November 11, 2023 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 19 days. Glenda was the beloved daughter of the late Monroe and Faye Holmes Glover.
She grew up at and was a member of Union Grove Methodist church. In recent years, she attended First United Methodist church in Selmer.
Throughout her life, Glenda dedicated herself to caring for others. She served as a nurses aid at the McNairy and Hardeman County Health Department for many years and also worked as an aid and substitute teacher for the McNairy Board of Education. Her compassionate nature and selflessness touched the lives of many.
Glenda was a devoted mother to her four sons. She never missed an opportunity to support and cheer on her boys in every sport they participated in. But perhaps her greatest joy came from being a "Nana" to her grandchildren - her love knew no bounds.
In addition to being a loving mother and grandmother, Glenda possessed extraordinary culinary skills. Her sons fondly remember her delicious spaghetti as well as pecan pie and mouthwatering turkey and dressing. The memories they shared around the dinner table will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
She is survived by four sons, Jamie Wolfe and wife Shawn of Smyrna, TN, Scotty Wolfe and wife Carolyn of Jackson, TN, Micky Wolfe and wife Stacy of Athens, AL, Timmy Wolfe and wife Samantha of Lebanon, TN;
eleven grandchildren, Brett Wolfe and wife Morgan, Peyton, Gentry, Blake, Bailey, Ella, Nolen, Linley, Molly, Karley, and Maggie Wolfe; a great-grandson, Zander Wolfe; sister-in-law, Martha Glover of Selmer, TN; nephews, Jim and Jack Glover; niece, Molly Glover; as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
Glenda was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Gentry Wolfe, Jr., her second husband, W.L. Dowty; brothers, Charles and Billy Joe Glover; in-laws Nellie Kiser and Albert Gentry Wolfe, Sr.
While she is no longer with us, the memories of Glenda's love and kindness will forever shine bright in our hearts.
Serving as pallbearer are grandsons: Brett, Peyton, Blake, Bailey and Nolen Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers are Joey Maness, Jack Glover, Jim Glover and Jeff Schultz.
