GLENDA HOUSTON

Henderson, TN: Glenda Evelyn Smith Houston age 65 passed away July 19, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born May 3, 1954 in McNairy County at Bethel Springs and grew up in McNairy and Chester Counties the daughter of Steve Wesley and Evelyn Thacker Smith. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1974. She married Chester Houston in 1973. She made her home at Jacks Creek and Henderson. She had made her home for the past eight years in Henderson with her sister. She enjoyed putting puzzles together. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Houston is survived by a son, Russell Houston of Parsons and a daughter, Geanie Wallace (Roger) of Paris; three grandchildren, Allan Houston, Kaylee Houston and Cameron Houston; four brothers, Troy Smith and Steve Smith both of Henderson and Kenneth Smith and Bobby Smith both of Bethel Springs and three sisters, Dean Baggett of Bethel Springs, Linda Teague of Memphis and Ollie Smith of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Tommy Houston in 1995; four brothers, William Smith, Albert Smith, Raymond Smith and Danny Smith.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 23 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Danny Hopper officiating. Burial will follow
in Lake Hill Memory Gardens at Bethel Springs.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday.
