Glenda Ervin Bass died Saturday morning, December 22 at McNairy County Regional Hospital.
The wife of Martin Bass, who survives, she was a teacher with the Bolivar and Middleton school systems for 11 years and formerly worked for United Family Life Insurance Company. She was born May 7, 1953, in Covington to Ray Ervin of Selmer and the late Olene Baker Ervin and grew up in McNairy County. She was a 1972 graduate of McNairy County High School where she participated in cheerleading and was a 1990 graduate of Union University. She enjoyed the arts and crocheting hats to take to the cancer center. One of her greatest joys was playing with her grandchildren. Mrs. Bass was a member of Porters Creek Baptist Church, where she sang and played piano. She also played and sang for Dixie Hills Baptist Church and Hatchie Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, whom she married on November 14, 1982, and her father, survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Aimee (Jeff) Redmon of Stantonville, Christa (Justin) Tull of Bethel Springs; a son and his wife, Eric (Stacy) Seaton of Bolivar; a brother, William Cannon of Bolivar; six grandchildren, Riley and Katie Seaton, Jack Simpson, Jordan, Emilee and Luke Redmon; and a brother in law, Jerome Bass of Middleton. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie.
