He was born in Milledgeville, Hardin County, the son of the late Ulis L. and Maudie Tucker Snider. He went to school at Milledgeville and Enville and farmed as a young man and was married to Velma Neisler in 1941. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1944, during WWII and served on base in Plymouth, England. Mr. Snider farmed all of his life and had worked for Whalley Construction Company. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife Velma Lee Neisler Snider of Henderson; four sons, Randie Snider and wife Nancy, and Jerry Snider and wife Ruth all of Jackson; Bobby Snider and wife Ronda of Gig Harbor, WA and Chris Snider of Lebanon, MO; a daughter, Peggy Helms and husband Curtis of Eads, TN; fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Snider of Albertville, AL and Buford Snider of Inman, SC; three sisters, Bernice Walker of Memphis, Nell Taylor of Jackson and Linda Graves of Chapmansboro, TN.Mr. Snider was preceded in death by a grandson, Clay Snider in February 2008 and also four brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, Alton and Joe Neal Snider.
