GLADYS SMITHwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 27, 1920 the daughter of the late Davis Edgar and Martha Annie Bell Crider Jones.She was united in marriage to William Pola Smith, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith was employed as a fancy sticher with Brown Shoe Company for about 35 years. She was a member of Graham United Methodist Church and lived in the Walkertown Community all of her life. Mrs. Smith was famous for her quilting skills.She departed this life on March 16, 2007 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 17 days.Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Karen Shelby of Savannah, Tennessee; a son, William David Smith; four grandchildren: Amanda Wolfe, James Milton Shelby, III, Nathan Grant-Lee Shelby and Carson Delayne Shelby; three great-grandchildren: Bailey Wolfe, Peyton James Shelby and Brittany Brown; a sister, Mary Estella Jones of Savannah, Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.
