Gladys Mae Deaton

Gladys Mae Deatonwas born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on October 11, 1915 the daughter of the late Charlie and Ethel Higgins White.On June 7, 1936 she was united in marriage to James Harold Deaton, who preceded her in death on August 2, 2006.In addition to Lauderdale County, Mrs. Deaton had lived in Mississippi, Henderson and Savananh, Tennessee. She operated a grocery store and cafe with her husband for 6 years. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, and was a member of the Missionary Baptist.Mrs. Deaton departed this life in Savannah, Tennessee on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the age of 93 years, 2 months, 13 days.Mrs. Deaton is survived by a daughter, Linda Banks of Savannah, Tennessee; a grandchild, Stacy Grisham; a great-grandchild, Levi Casteel.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Deaton was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur White and a grandchild, Jeremy Stephen Sweat.
