Gladys C. Adkins
was born June 27, 1918 the daughter of the late Marion and Ollie Preston Caudill.
In 1934 Mrs. Adkins married Wallace Adkins who preceded her in death June 1971.
Mrs. Adkins was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to the Leapwood Home Demonstration Club and the Senior Center. She loved quilting and gardening.
Mrs. Adkins departed this life Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the age of 89 years, 4 months, 21 days.
She is survived by 5 daughters: Betty DeLong and husband Clifford of Windsor, Ohio, Helen Combs and husband James of Adamsville, Tennessee, Dee Campbell and husband Roy of Humboldt, Tennessee, Carolyn Ellis and husband Terry of Atlanta, Georgia, Marilyn Robbins and husband Gary of Morrison, Tennessee; 3 sons: Hobert Adkins of Zephyrhills, Florida, Carlus Adkins and wife Mary Ann of Savannah, Tennessee, Bobby Adkins of Whittier, California; 1 brother: Marion Caudill, Jr. and wife Wanda of Cincinatti, Ohio; 10 grandchildren: Laymon DeLong, Michael DeLong, Kathy Adkins, Carlus Adkins, Jr., Judy Adkins, Greg Combs, Danny Combs, Chris Combs, Richard Ring, and Tony Robbins; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by 2 sons: James Adkins and Jack Adkins; 3 sisters: Edna Kerr, Addie Casteel, and Mildred Caudill; 1 brother: Virgil Caudill; and grandson: Steve DeLong.
