Gilbert Ira Pipkin, 57, of Middleton, died Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.
Born September 8, 1948 in Hardeman County, son of Gilbert T. Pipkin and Kellon Davis Pipkin, he was a mechanic at Chuck Hutton. He was a dog trainer and coon hunter and his familiy states the “he loved his family and grandchildren and was always there for them.†Mr. Pipkin was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ.
Services were 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Middleton chapel with Adrian Knipper officiating. Burial was in Rogers Springs Cemetery near Middleton.
Survivors include two daughters and two sons, Lavada Joyce Gammel, Judy Linda Burnett, Ruble Ira Pipkin and Christopher Wayne Pipkin, all of Middleton; one sister, Sheena Kay Hill of Pascagoula, Miss.; two half-sisters, Charlotte Myers of Pascagoula and Melanie Kiestler of Middleton; one brother, Rickey Pipkin of Middleton and one half-brother, Mike Worley of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great grandchild; his best friend, Jimmy Weaver; his mother and step-father, Kellon Worley of Pascagoula and Ed Worley of Birmingham, Ala.; eight step-brothers and step-sisters and his step-mother, Kay Pipkin Alsup of Middleton. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert T. Pipkin and one brother, Kenneth Pipkin.
